The Spirit Jellyfish Ashes are among the most beneficial Spirit Summons for players in the early stages of Elden Ring. To obtain this item, make your way to Stormveil Keep.
In Elden Ring, ashes serve as a means to summon Spirits that provide assistance to players during single-player gameplay, particularly in areas with numerous enemies or a boss. While some ashes, such as the Noble Sorcerer Ashes, are disappointingly weak and hardly worth utilizing, others like the Spirit Jellyfish Ashes are highly valuable due to their exceptional abilities and impressive health reserves.
Jellyfish mobs can be found throughout the Lands Between, with players often encountering their first group in Limgrave, northwest of the Church of Elleh. While not the toughest enemies in Elden Ring, their attacks can be surprisingly devastating and long-ranged. Conversely, the Spirit Jellyfish is a powerful and useful summon spirit that can aid players throughout most of the game.
As of January 3rd, 2023, Russ Boswell has updated the guide to include a companion video to help players acquire the Jellyfish Summon Spirit. Elden Ring offers a variety of summons that can provide offensive or defensive support, with the Jellyfish being one of the best defensive options available.
A Jellyfish With High HP And A Poison Ability
The primary advantage of the Spirit Jellyfish over other Spirit Summons lies in its exceptionally high HP pool. For instance, Margit the Fell Omen inflicts significantly less damage to the Spirit Jellyfish than to the player, making it one of the most effective tanking Spirit Summons available early on. Although it does not engage in melee combat, it regularly launches Poison projectiles at enemies, which can accumulate quickly and drain HP long after the Spirit Jellyfish has perished.
While the Wandering Nobles or Demi-Human Ashes may appear to be superior due to their greater number of summons, the Spirit Jellyfish holds its own owing to its resilience. The Demi-Humans summoned by the Demi-Human Ashes perish almost instantly to Agheel’s fire, whereas the Spirit Jellyfish endures through this battle for a significantly longer period.
Where To Get The Spirit Jellyfish Ashes
To obtain the Spirit Jellyfish Ashes, players must speak with Roderika, a crestfallen woman wearing a red hood, who can be found sitting in Stormhill Shack. To reach the shack, head northwest on the road leading through a ravine from the Gatefront Ruins, located just north of the Church of Elleh. By riding Torrent and sprinting past the giant and Godrick Soldiers, players can easily avoid them.
Upon reaching the shack, players will encounter another Lost Grace nearby. Upon entering the Stormhill Shack, Roderika can be found sitting inside. After engaging in a conversation with her, players can obtain the Spirit Jellyfish Ashes and the Sitting Sideways gesture. It is important to pay close attention to Roderika’s dialogue, as her questline is crucial for Spirit Summon upgrades later in the game.
Elden Ring is now available on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, as well as Xbox One and Series X|S.
